What is the the steel series 6gv2?

The SteelSeries 6Gv2, modeled after the award winning SteelSeries 7G keyboard, is the lower priced mechanical keyboard that improves the user's ability to obtain more actions per minute than any other keyboard on the market.

The SteelSeries G Series Keyboards redefine "anti-ghosting" features by supporting as many simultaneous key presses as there are keys on the keyboard. The SteelSeries 6Gv2 features both PS/2 and gold-plated mechanical switches. Its increased response times and extreme durability make the SteelSeries 6Gv2 the ultimate keyboard option for gamers.

Pros

Mechanical keyboard: This keyboard is very different from membrane keyboards. Instead of having a membrane between each individual key, it has a key switch system. Which means it is easier to press the keys and it responds twice as fast. This is a huge big step up from membrane keyboards. If you are a pro gamer this will give you a huge advantage. yes you can perform more APMs (Actions per minute). So your skills are not limited by hardware. The membrane keys also wear out and get stuck etc. The mechanical keys lasts about 10 times longer and they agre gold plated for ultimate performance. You also have an audible response from the keys when you press them.

Function Key: The steel series logo on the keyboard acts as the function key. The function key is found on laptops where you can press the function key and F1 etc. for mute, Increase volume etc.

Connectivity:
You can use a gold plated USB 2.0 OR a PS/2 Jack.
No windows key on the left side: Yea, its got no windows key on the left side of the keyboard so you dont press it accidently during games.

Gold plated Connector: Extra Durability.
Extreme Anti Ghosting : Extreme Anti ghosting capability. You can Strafe crouch snipe and check your score at the same time!

They Keyboard is heavy and has rubber grips at the bottom which prevents it from moving from its original position while gaming.
The keys are also conveniently placed such that you can type really fast and its very easy to get adjusted to the key placement. they are not placed too far off from each other too close by either.

Cons:

Looks:

The first time you look at this keyboard you would go like wth is that?! it looks like any other standard keyboard in the market. But looks can be deceiving It is the most ultimate keyboard in terms of performance. Steelseries should have done something about the way it looks.
The Build quality doesn't seem to be up to the mark, the spacebar key had issues where if you press one extreme end it would get stuck.
Ergonomics:
Umm no wrist rest.. this makes it sorta uncomfortable to use but you get used to it after an hour or 2 of use.

Weight:

It's a mechanical keyboard, it is heavy but its not like you will be holding the keyboard in the air while playing. It weighs 2.6 killograms! This also means that it wont move when you are placing it on the table.
No Audio ports or USB ports on the keyboard. But nobody uses them anyways.

No Macro Keys:
This is the major disadvantage with the keyboard. You don't have any programmable keys, which is really sad as its an amazing keyboard in terms of response and anti ghosting. Macro keys would have made it the ultimate weapon of choice
Price: EUR: 79.99 Yes, it's an expensive keyboard. But worth it for the performance difference from a standard membrane keyboard like the razer lyccosa or a logitech g15.

Optimized for ingame sounds like: gunfire, weapon reloads, footsteps and other crucial in-game sounds. This is a definate advantage as you will be able to hear any such sounds and pin point the location of your opponents.

Full sized heavily cushioned (felt cloth) ear cups for extended use during gaming.
Ear cups can rotate for added comfort.
Padded adjusted headband for added comfort.
retractable microphone in the left ear cup for convenience.

Cons: As the headphones are optimized for gaming they dont perform that great in music. There is no bass and the headphones leak a lot of sound which can be very annoying for the people around you.

Pros:
The rubber base helps to keep the mouse pad from moving out of place if you try moving the mouse pad by pushing it forward while keeping your hands on it, you will probably end up pushing the table.
The thickness of the mouse pad helps reduce uneven surface problems keeping it flat overall.
Very Durable and can be carried around to LAN tournaments.
High density cloth wield (Smooth cloth surface) which allows the mouse to glide on the surface with minimum friction. This not only helps your aim/performance but also helps in preserving the teflon feet of your mouse from wearing out really soon.
XXL: This mouse pad is Huge giving you a lot of room to move your mouse around if you are a low sensitivity gamer.

It might be too big for some people to keep it on their desks.
