ok im going to upgrade my mobo. as i was scavanging around my house for spare change i found 2 1gb ddr2 667 modules. in my system i have 1 1gb ddr2 800 and 1 2gb one.
is it better to run all 4(5gb total)at speeds of 667 or just stick to my 3 gb ddr2 800?

im using windows 7 32bit and i would gladly upgrade to 64 bit (and get no more bsods)

@ DJ Neta not sure I was

@ DJ Neta not sure I was mixing two ram speeds last week and why does it bother you and are you really a DJ?

I think the timing will

I think the timing will revert to the lowest speed module, but I am not 100% on that. I mixed 2x1gb of pc6400 and 2x2gb of pc5300 ddr2 without any hassle.
I had them in the corresponding channels (2/1 2/1).

I agree, not great to mix

I agree, not great to mix memory like that, but you could give it a try :)

It's not a good idea to mix

It's not a good idea to mix different memory modules on the same board as this can lead to system instability.

And yeah, upgrade to 64bit regardless, you'll never have to worry about the 32bit memory limitation for future upgrades.
