Here in the UK, us 16 years olds (and 15 year olds) are preparing for our GCSE exams in May and June as well as handing in our final pieces of coursework. I expect that in the US, you have or are already going through your exams to end school.
Exams have been stressful, so to all of us teenagers: have you got restrictions from your parents for gaming? I have - Fridays only now unless I've done enough work and revision. I know they're right and I will benefit from it but MAN this is stressful - can't wait for the end of June!!!
Also, who here is doing the AQA 2010 ICT GCSE Board Set Task Full Course Coursework? IT SUCKS!!!

I'm going to be doing a BTEC in Electronic Engineering in college.
So, when do you North Americans (both Canadians and people in the US) have your exams?
Well, it'll be out the way
Well, it'll be out the way soon. Databases are far from exciting but it's something worth knowing to some degree. I never much cared for access/databases myself. Or systems analysis. I you plan to stick with IT at college and uni then I'm sure you'll be seeing more of both though, particularly databases, since they are used in other areas such as software and web development.
Good luck with the coursework anyway, and your upcoming exams.

The ICT Coursework is databases - not components or anything - databases and making things on MS Access. Mail merges e.t.c. I wish I took AS computing (since it was offered) by the teacher who was to teach it advised me not to. A couple of months back, I told her I wish I had taken AS computing instead and she said that she wishes I did to - she asked my why I didn't... I told her she told me not to :(
Believe me, ICT GCSE is not fun and is irrelevant to my future. Computing on the other hand would have been a lot more useful.

He says on a computing forum.... lol :P
You should think yourself lucky you get to do IT at GCSE. I missed out when I was at school because it got introduced the year after I left. We didn't get PCs until my final year; until then we just had a couple of rooms of Acorn machines. We still had IT classes, but we didn't get any nationally recognised qualifications, just a certificate.
What's the coursework you have to do?
