They had a Metal Slug 2 cabinet at a hostel I used to live at. My friend used to play it all the time. I've really never seen the appeal of those games myself.

Yeah, I have it for the 360 but got it from steam too when I saw that offer. For those yet to take advantage of the offer, it ends on the 24th of this month, so you should get it quickly.
There's actually over six years between them; Elastomania came out in 2000 during my first year of college. I remember me and a couple of guys from my course installed it on all the PCs in the library (and most of the labs) and it fast became a college favourite, along with Dopewars.
Yeah if I'm honest I've not touched either for a long time, but elastomania is a game I'll go back to every now and again. Me and my friends used to make levels to challenge each other with.... good times :)
The one free game (only the demo is free, but the only real restriction is fewer official levels and limitations to the map editor) I have gone back to time and again, and played on and off for going on ten years (sad I know) is elastomania. Most of you have probably played this at some point, but those who haven't I urge you to give it a go.
Another annoyingly addictive and frustratingly difficult game is Icy Tower, another internet classic which most of you probably know already...
